Background

Amid the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, a state of emergency has been declared.
To create an environment for working from home, it has become crucial to establish the conditions necessary for telecommuting.

Purpose

Telecommuting support was required in a specific-purpose environment that is separated from the internal company network. To enable remote access to this environment, we established a network infrastructure with a focus on security considerations.

Network Overview

  • We installed a VPN router at the entrance to the internal company network and a VPN termination device at the entrance to the specific-purpose network accessible from external sources.
  • From external terminals, a connection to the internal company network is established through SSL-VPN communication. This enables remote access and control of internal terminals dedicated to development environments.
