Striving for analog performance from both the bottom-up and top-down perspectives.

We have developed our analysis platform to optimize their performance. We pursue performance from a wide range of perspectives.
Pursuing analog circuit performance requires both bottom-up and top-down perspectives. At SANEI HYTECHS, we are advancing the construction of a design environment to enable all engineers to demonstrate the best technology with a broad perspective.

Bottom-up perspective

We are advancing our technology development using MATLAB/Simulink to incorporate new circuit technology and design methods, and we used the technology and methods to design ΔΣADC and digital power supplies.

Development of an analysis platform to understand device properties

From a bottom-up perspective, we are developing an analysis platform to understand the properties of devices such as CMOS transistors and resistance elements.

Even if the circuit configuration (circuit diagram shape) is determined, the semiconductor properties of the elements vary greatly depending on the type of semiconductor process (and fab), such as CMOS 0.25um, 0.18um, 90nm, and 40nm. As a result, significant changes in design policy are often necessary. It takes time to execute simulations of the entire circuit to confirm the characteristics of the circuit, and it is not easy to identify which element in the circuit diagram is causing the failure to meet the specifications.

Therefore, before starting specific circuit design, we simulate transistor elements, resistance elements, and capacitance elements under various conditions and create a database of the properties of each element. Based on this, we establish a quantitative design policy. By designing according to the properties of each element, the impact of each element on the entire circuit diagram can be predicted, making it easier to pursue the performance of analog circuits.

Utilization of in-house developed analysis platform

By utilizing our in-house developed analysis platform, we can efficiently create databases of device properties and visually confirm their characteristics.

Top-Down perspective

Environment construction of system design tools (MATLAB/Simulink, etc.)

From a top-down perspective, we set up the environment for system design tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.

By conducting simulations at the system level to sort out trade-offs in performance before creating specific circuit diagrams, we can pursue the best possible analog performance.
By revealing trade-offs, we may find that achieving the desired performance from customers with conventional circuits is difficult. However, by quickly recognizing the difficulty of the design, we can concentrate the power of the design on solving the problem, making it possible to create new circuit designs within a limited design period.
