Hamamatsu Konan High School (December 20, 2022)

We are nurturing the interest of middle school and high school students in IT and creating learning opportunities that lead to their future.
On December 20, 2022, we hosted a field study for seven 1st-year students from Hamamatsu Konan High School.

Experience program

The students took on the following experiential program:

  • Company Introduction and Company Tour
  • Analog Circuit Design Experience
  • Roundtable Discussion with Our Employees

Student testimonials

  • At first, I knew nothing about LSI, but after listening to the explanations, I felt that I gained some knowledge. In terms of 'sense of accomplishment,' I think it's very positive to be able to see and feel something tangible that I created. I also realized the importance of thinking about goals and a sense of accomplishment for the future.
  • While researching the company for class,I came across intriguing terms like LSI and semiconductors. Today's discussion provided me with a lot of understanding, and I feel fulfilled. I participated in a programming competition in the past.  Through today's experience, I feel inspired to take on new challenges once again.
  • I got the impression of working in casual attire and a sense of freedom, especially with flextime. I was surprised because companies involved in research and development had a strict image. It was a very valuable experience. I want to work hard in my studies and strive to join a company that suits me.
  • Even in the short span of three hours, I feel like I learned a tremendous amount of valuable information. What left a strong impression on me was the hands-on creation of the 'walking robot,' a project tackled with our own hands and creativity. Although the analog technology involved seemed like a series of mundane tasks, the sense of accomplishment upon achieving the goal was immense. This experience made me realize that each step in actual LSI design, every task and thought process, contributes to significant changes later on. It was a truly unique and precious three hours, something I wouldn't have experienced in other workplaces.
  • I was surprised to see the application of concepts from middle school science, such as Ohm's Law, in building systems. It emphasized the importance of reviewing what I've learned so far. As I intend to pursue a career in the STEM field, I plan to make use of the knowledge gained during this experience. With a deeper understanding of STEM companies, I hope to use this knowledge to choose my future career path wisely.
  • I didn't know much about semiconductors, but after listening to today's discussion, I gained some understanding and found it quite interesting. I had initially thought that many people here would have studied electronics or mechanical engineering, so I was surprised to learn that there are individuals with different backgrounds.
  • Even for terms I had heard before, the meanings or details were unclear, but by seeing actual items and pictures, I was able to understand what they are. During the experience, I felt the importance of the content learned in middle school, high school, and university, as well as the difficulty of thinking and adjusting. What I learned this time has sparked more interest than before. Seeing that such small and complex things are being thought about and created, I feel motivated to work hard in my future life.
