Hamamatsu Nishi High School (February 4, 2025)

We are committed to fostering interest in IT among junior and senior high school students and providing learning opportunities that connect to their future.
On February 4, 2025, we hosted a field study for eight first-year students from Shizuoka Prefectural Hamamatsu Nishi High School. This program aims to provide students interested in IT, semiconductors, and LSI technology with learning experiences that will be useful for their future career paths, through design workshops, workplace tours, and discussions with our employees.

Experience Program

We conducted analog circuit design workshops, workplace tours, and discussions with our employees. Through these experience programs, the students learned about actual work environments and technologies, and it seems they had the opportunity to consider their future career paths. Additionally, through interactions with our employees, they deepened their understanding of the industry's appeal and the rewards of the work. We hope that this experience will help the students move forward positively in their future studies and career choices.

Student Feedback

  • I participated because I was interested in information technology companies. I wanted to learn about semiconductor and artificial intelligence jobs. I enjoyed the discussions with employees and the experiment of measuring the distance of a robot's sensor. I learned that the employee training is substantial, which increased my motivation to work here.
  • I am interested in manufacturing and was drawn to your company, which handles software and semiconductors. I had rarely experienced robotics before, so it was a lot of fun. I also received information about university entrance exams from the employees, which was helpful. The entire experience was enjoyable and meaningful.
  • I had the opportunity to experience programming at school, and it was interesting, so I wanted to participate in a company that deals with programming and AI. It was great to learn about the company and its work. I enjoyed operating the robot, but some of the specialized content was difficult to understand.
  • I am choosing science courses from the second year, so I wanted to participate because I was interested in engineering-related fields. I enjoyed challenging myself with tasks using Excel and robots. The employees' experiences were helpful. Understanding the technical terms was difficult, but I gained valuable knowledge for my career choices.
  • I was interested in system design, so I participated. Operating the robot changed my concept of design.
It was difficult to devise ways to operate it. I was able to hear about the company as well as the employees' experiences with university entrance exams, which was helpful for my future planning.
  • I participated because I was interested in the IT industry. The experiment using a car was new and fun.
I was able to experience learning that I don't usually get. Although there were difficult parts, I learned about the reality of IT companies, which will be helpful for my future choices.
  • I was interested in circuit design and informatics, so I wanted to visit a company that is deeply involved in those fields. By hearing directly from employees, I was able to understand the company's actual situation, which I couldn't learn online. I was left with a strong impression that it is a company specializing in design.
  • I participated because I was interested in information technology and it was a small-group experience, so I expected it to be fulfilling. The experiment with the walking robot helped me deepen my understanding. The company's atmosphere was better than I expected, in a good way, and I had a favorable impression.
